A father and a son, and a standard we set for ourselves
HTX Guns started the way a lot of family businesses do: a father and a son who were customers first.
Between us we walked into a lot of gun shops over the years — buying a first pistol, chasing a hard-to-find rifle, asking what we now know were beginner questions. Some of those visits were excellent. Plenty of them were not. We left more than one counter feeling like we had interrupted somebody's day, and we learned pretty quickly that a first-time buyer can walk in curious and walk out embarrassed.
That stayed with us. When we opened our own doors, the standard was simple and it has not moved since: everyone gets the white-glove treatment. The person spending $300 on their first carry gun gets the same attention as the collector spending $6,000. Nobody gets talked down to for not knowing the difference between a gas system and a piston, because everybody started there.
It is also why we do the awkward parts in-house rather than sending you somewhere else. We hold a Class 2 SOT, so the suppressor, the Form 4 and the fingerprints all happen at our counter in one visit. We answer our own phone. If you email us, one of us reads it.
We are a small shop that ships nationwide, and we would rather you come back than buy once. That is the whole business model.
