AR-15 magazines are the most standardised and most variable component in shooting — the interface is universal, the quality is not. Modern polymer magazines with anti-tilt followers are the default for good reason; aluminium ones remain fine but their feed lips are easier to damage in a drop.

Check the state the magazine is shipping to before you order. Fourteen states restrict capacity, several changed in the last year, and your receiving dealer will hold back anything their state does not permit — including magazines that came in the box with the rifle.
